Argentina teen Agostina Vega murder investigation

Fourteen‑year‑old Agostina Vega vanished on 30 May and her body was discovered on a field in the Ampliación Ferreyra neighbourhood of Córdoba. Prosecutors are examining whether the suspect, Claudio Barrelier, moved the corpse from his home at Juan del Campillo 800 to the field before it was left there.

Blood‑stain analysis suggests the killing may have occurred in the house, but the dismemberment likely happened elsewhere. Authorities are also looking into a possible link with a known associate of Barrelier, referred to as “the doctor” or “the surgeon,” and a suspected drug‑related dispute involving the theft of kilograms of narcotics. The case has sparked public demonstrations in San Juan demanding justice for the femicide.
