Argentina to acquire 235 Stryker armored vehicles from the United States

Argentina has formalized an agreement to acquire up to 235 Stryker 8x8 wheeled armored vehicles from the United States. The deal was finalized through a Letter of Offer and Acceptance (LOA) under the Foreign Military Sales (FMS) and Excess Defense Articles (EDA) programs.

Signed by Argentine Defense Minister Carlos Alberto Presti and attended by U.S. Ambassador Peter Lamelas, the agreement includes various Stryker variants: M1256 infantry combat vehicles, M1251A1 command vehicles, M1131A1 fire support vehicles, and M1133A1 medical evacuation vehicles. These units feature Double V-Hull (DVH) protection to increase safety against mines and improvised explosive devices.

The transfer will be conducted in stages, with an initial batch of approximately 50 units already inspected by Argentine technical personnel in Fort Hood, Texas. The program also encompasses training, spare parts, and maintenance support to bolster the Argentine Army's operational capacity.
