Argentina to deploy INVAP long-range radar in Río Grande
The Argentine Air Force plans to replace the existing RPA-170M radar system in Cabo Domingo, Río Grande, with a new long-range RPA-240T surveillance system. Developed by the Argentine company INVAP, the new equipment is expected to arrive in October or November 2026.
The RPA-240T features a declared range of 440 kilometers and the capability to automatically acquire and track up to 600 targets simultaneously. The system provides three-dimensional detection, offering data on distance, azimuth, and altitude.
Designed to strengthen aerospace surveillance in Tierra del Fuego and the South Atlantic, the radar includes specialized protection against electronic warfare threats to ensure operational stability in complex electromagnetic environments.
