Argentina updates domestic worker and caregiver salary scales
The National Commission for Domestic Work (Cntcp) has officialized new salary scales for domestic workers and caregivers in Argentina, effective through December 2026. Under Resolution 6/2026, the updates establish minimum hourly and monthly rates based on specific job categories and whether the worker stays overnight (sin retiro) or returns home (con retiro).
For caregivers in the “Assistance and care of persons” category—which includes non-therapeutic care for the elderly, children, and people with disabilities—monthly salaries for those returning home will rise from $514,903.51 in August to $571,842.92 by December. Those staying overnight will see an increase from $569,593.41 in August to $630,347.58 in December.
The broader domestic worker sector, including general tasks and supervisors, will follow a similar monthly increase schedule. The resolution outlines a 1.9% increase for August, 1.8% for September, 1.7% for October, and 1.6% for both November and December. Additionally, a portion of the non-remunerative bonus granted in August will be progressively incorporated into the basic salaries in the following months.
