Argentina vermouth exports shift toward premium value model
Argentine vermouth exports are shifting from a volume-based model to a high-value premium strategy. After reaching a historic peak in 2025 with over $20 million in exports and 7.7 million liters, the industry is now prioritizing quality over quantity.
Data from 2026 indicates that while export volumes dropped by 13.44% compared to the same period in 2025, the total value of exports rose by 13.17%, increasing from $5.62 million to $6.37 million. This shift has resulted in an average export price of $3.86 per liter. Mendoza is a key player in this transition, consolidating a model focused on prestige and high-end markets.
Geographically, five markets account for approximately 90% of total exports. Russia emerged as the primary buyer in 2025, purchasing $10.64 million, which represented 53% of the total. Other significant markets include France, Brazil, the United States, and Uruguay.
