Argentina volunteer firefighters receive donation and launch new community fundraiser
Volunteer firefighters of the 9 de Julio station received a donation from the senior‑plus‑40 football group. The contribution, funded by a cafeteria fundraiser on 28 February, provided a stationary bike, elastic bands, cones, training balls, a coordination ladder, a volleyball net and other fitness equipment. “Les agradecemos este gesto, para nosotros es muy importante,” said station president Martín Del Castillo.
The Sub‑Commission of Ladies of the Olavarría Volunteer Firefighters Association is organizing a new edition of the Gran Tejetón Solidario on 27 June at the central barracks. Tickets cost $2,000 and include a raffle with major prizes. Proceeds will support the corps’ ongoing solidarity actions and a yarn‑collection drive to make blankets for families facing cold weather.
Both initiatives aim to strengthen the fire service’s capacity to serve the community and provide direct aid to vulnerable residents.
