Argentina wins Women's Hockey World Cup title

The Argentina women's national field hockey team, known as Las Leonas, won their third Women's Hockey World Cup title after defeating the Netherlands in a dramatic final in Amstelveen. Following a 1-1 draw in regulation time, Argentina secured a 3-1 victory in a shootout.

Yibbi Jansen scored for the Netherlands in the second quarter, but María José Granatto equalized for Argentina in the fourth quarter to force the shootout. Goalkeeper Cristina Cosentino was the standout performer, saving three penalty shots to secure the championship. This victory marks Argentina's first world title since 2010.

In the men's tournament, Los Leones also achieved success, winning the bronze medal after a 2-1 victory over the Netherlands. Goals from Tomás Domene and Matías Rey secured the podium finish for the Argentine men's team.
