Argentina wins inaugural women's blind football Copa América
Argentina's women's blind football team, known as Las Murciélagas, won the inaugural Copa América title after defeating Brazil 1-0 in the final held in São Paulo. Gracia Sosa scored the decisive goal, securing an undefeated tournament run for the Argentine side. This victory also guarantees Argentina a spot in the 2027 Women's Blind Football World Cup.
In the men's competition, the Brazilian national team has advanced to the semifinals. After finishing at the top of Group 2 following a 0-0 draw against Colombia, Brazil is scheduled to face Costa Rica in the semifinal match. The Brazilian men's team, a dominant force in the sport with five world titles, seeks its seventh Copa América trophy.
