Argentina winter charity drives deliver blankets to vulnerable families

In Córdoba, the "Un abrigo al corazón" campaign gathered thousands of volunteers on Saturday at the Quality Arena to knit square wool pieces that were assembled into blankets for people in vulnerable situations. Participants received yarn and a number for onsite raffles, and the event featured live music, comedy and prizes. The initiative was organized jointly by the Interreligious Committee for Peace (COMIPAZ), the provincial government, the municipality of Córdoba and Cadena 3.

In the city of Olavarría, the municipal "Operativo Frío" mobilized more than 40 local institutions to collect and sort warm clothing, blankets and footwear for families facing severe cold. About 2,500 items – roughly 40% of the total donations – were classified during a Saturday session at Club El Provincial. Volunteers will continue sorting in the coming days before distributing the aid to the families in need.
