In response to the result, President Romuald Wadagni issued a message of support to the Benin team, known as the Amazones. He encouraged the players to maintain confidence, noting that the defeat does not erase their talent or the historic progress they have made, specifically citing their previous 2-2 draw against Mexico earlier in the competition.
