The Argentine women’s senior volleyball squad, known as “Las Panteras,” continued training in the province of San Juan, where they will face Venezuela and Chile in a friendly triangular that serves as preparation for their first official assignment of the year, the Copa Sudamericana scheduled for July. The team is coached by Facundo Morando and includes standout player Avril García. The Argentine Volleyball Federation also announced the death of former national coach and Olympic bronze‑medalist Daniel Castellani, who had recently been serving as the team’s head coach.

Separately, the national Sub‑16 volleyball championship took place in Comodoro Rivadavia, Chubut. The Santa Cruz girls’ team secured two victories over San Luis and Tierra del Fuego, finishing third in their group and will compete for ninth place overall. The province’s boys’ team lost to Chaco and will now vie for seventeenth place. The tournament is overseen by the Chubut Volleyball Federation with the approval of the Argentine Volleyball Federation.
