Argentina's Agrarian Ministry promotes livestock financing and genetic research

Javier Rodríguez, the Minister of Agrarian Development, has emphasized the importance of financing and technical support for agricultural producers to leverage international price trends into local investments. Through agreements with Banco Provincia, the Ministry offers subsidized interest rates and financing terms of up to 72 months to support various production chains.

Additionally, the Ministry is focusing on livestock productivity through its five experimental farms, which work on genetic improvement, nutrition, and management. A Bovine Genetic Improvement Program approved for 2025 aims to enhance the productivity and profitability of livestock systems in Buenos Aires province. Rodríguez also noted the critical role of animal health, stating that the government is awaiting a positive response from SENASA regarding Resolution 201 and requests made by the Provincial Commission for Animal Health (COPROSA).
