Argentina's agri‑tech platforms roll out field testing hub and digital tools

Grupo GR has opened PT Farm, an open‑field agricultural technology platform in Carmen de Areco, Buenos Aires Province. The site offers producers hands‑on trials of seeds, crop protection products, machinery and digital solutions, as well as training and knowledge transfer events. Director Álvaro Moreno said, “Es una plataforma que nos permite relacionarnos con los distintos grupos de interés del agro.” PT Farm also plans to develop a non‑GMO specialty soybean seed line aimed at European markets.

At the same time, BASF is showcasing an integrated suite of genetics, crop‑protection chemicals and digital tools at the Aapresid 2026 Congress in Rosario. Products highlighted include the broad‑spectrum herbicide Voraxor®, the fungicide Melyra®, pre‑emergent vulcarus® for sunflower, and the high‑concentration inoculant Hicoat® Dry for soy. The company's xarvio® FIELD MANAGER platform provides digital mapping of weeds, optimal timing for inputs and variable‑rate planning across more than 4.5 million hectares. BASF will also present new corn hybrids such as BASF 5282 VIP3 and updates to its sunflower and soy portfolios.
