Argentina's ANMAT bans dozens of cosmetics over health‑risk concerns

The National Administration of Drugs, Foods and Medical Technology (ANMAT) has prohibited the sale, use, advertising and distribution of a wide range of cosmetic and hair‑care products across Argentina. The bans cover all items from the brands Vieless and UP! MY HAIR, as well as facial masks and hand creams from Ushas, Fayankou, Kakaziyan and Chovemoar. ANMAT cited the lack of sanitary registration for these products and the possibility that they contain formaldehyde, a substance that can cause respiratory irritation, sensitisation and, with prolonged exposure, nasopharyngeal cancer.

The agency ordered the immediate removal of the products from retail outlets and online platforms, and warned consumers to verify sanitary registration numbers before purchasing cosmetics, especially through unofficial digital channels.
