Argentina's ANSES overhauls appointment scheduling and promotes unemployment aid

The National Social Security Administration (ANSES) announced a revamp of its in‑person appointment system, allowing users to select any office nationwide rather than being assigned the nearest branch. The change is intended to reduce unnecessary travel, ease congestion at popular locations and better distribute demand across all delegations.

ANSES also highlighted its unemployment benefit program, which provides temporary financial support to workers dismissed involuntarily. Eligibility requires at least six months of contributions in the past three years for permanent staff, or 12 months of work plus 90 days of activity for seasonal workers. Payments, calculated on prior earnings, run for 2‑12 months, with an extra six months for recipients over 45. Claims can be filed online through the virtual assistance portal or in person after securing an appointment, and beneficiaries receive funds via a social security savings account.
