Argentina raises disability benefit rates by 2.1% and adds 20% Patagonia bonus

The Argentine Ministry of Health, through the National Secretariat of Disability, issued Resolution 1297/2026 to increase the tariffs of the Basic Disability Benefits System by 2.10% starting in June 2026. The adjustment, based on the May consumer‑price index, raises payments for day‑care centers, therapeutic education centers, rehabilitation, early stimulation, transport and food services. For example, a double‑shift day‑care unit will receive $1,058,791.92 and a single‑shift unit $563,272.78.

The decree also maintains a 20% additional surcharge for services provided in Patagonia’s “unfavourable zone” to offset higher operating costs. The update was signed by Secretary Alejandro Vilches and published in the official bulletin.

The change comes amid longstanding complaints from disability organisations, providers and families demanding fuller implementation of the Emergency Disability Law and higher funding. Analysts note that while the 2.1% rise follows inflation, sector groups argue it remains insufficient to cover salaries, transport and other operational expenses.
