Argentina's Buenos Aires Province faces rising youth political disaffection as opposition urges change

A study by the Centro de Investigación y Acción Social (CIAS) found that 61% of young people aged 16‑24 living in the most vulnerable neighborhoods of Greater Buenos Aires do not identify with any political leader or party. The respondents cite lack of decent jobs, neighborhood violence, problematic substance use and precarious education as reasons they feel politics does not address their daily concerns.

At the same time, Agustina Ciarletta, a leading figure of the PRO in San Fernando and former city council member, argued that the Province of Buenos Aires needs a major political shift. She called for broader opposition cooperation to displace Kirchnerism, emphasized a focus on a "human agenda," and praised recent national economic measures that lowered inflation. Ciarletta said the city‑level public‑service model could be replicated in the province to improve health‑care access and municipal services.
