Argentina's Chubut and Río Negro provinces report over 140,000 flu vaccinations

The government of Argentina's Chubut province announced that 60,554 influenza vaccine doses have been administered to priority groups, including infants, pregnant women, seniors, at‑risk adults and health‑care workers. The provincial health secretary emphasized that the free shots are available without a prescription and urged continued uptake before the winter season.

In neighboring Río Negro, 82,430 doses have been given, reaching more than 74% of the provincial target. Coverage is highest among health personnel (97.5%) and seniors over 65, with notable uptake among pregnant women and people with pre‑existing conditions. The campaign, which began in February, aims to lessen flu‑related complications, hospitalisations and deaths across both provinces.
