Argentina's Córdoba and Entre Ríos provinces secure interurban bus services

In Córdoba Province, a sudden strike by the bus operator Grupo FAM led the provincial Transport Secretariat to activate an emergency contingency plan. The plan enlisted private operators Fono Bus and Buses Lep to cover the full range of routes that connect the city of Córdoba with northern towns, ensuring uninterrupted service while the labour dispute is resolved.

In Entre Ríos Province, the Transport Secretariat, headed by Secretary Aníbal Steren, ordered national bus companies to adjust fares to the provincial maximum of 147 pesos per kilometre. The enforcement created immediate price cuts on several corridors, such as Basavilbaso‑Concepción del Uruguay (from 12‑14 000 to 8 500 pesos) and Villa Elisa‑Colón (from about 9 000 to 5 000 pesos), aiming to protect passengers and guarantee equitable service conditions.
