Argentina's Córdoba and Salta water utilities raise tariffs

The Córdoba water utility Hidrosistema announced a 4.53% increase in its water tariff, citing higher operating costs and the need to fund the replacement of an aging pipe network that causes frequent leaks and sinkholes. Hidrosystem’s board member Alberto Mario García acknowledged the infrastructure challenges but said the upgrade would have to be phased due to high costs.

In the province of Salta, the regulator approved a 4.44% tariff rise for Aguas del Norte effective in August. This marks the seventh consecutive increase this year, bringing the price roughly 40% above the January level. The adjustment combines a consumer‑price‑index component and a fixed tariff‑review factor for the 2026‑2028 period.
