Argentina's Córdoba Province Faces End of Two-Decade Political Cycle, Says Deputy Rodríguez Machado

National deputy Laura Rodríguez Machado told Canal C that the political landscape in Córdoba is undergoing a decisive shift after more than twenty years of Juan Schiaretti’s administration. She described the current situation as an "absolute end of cycle" and emphasized the coalition nature of past governments, noting that elected candidates were backed by broad fronts rather than single parties.

Rodríguez Machado highlighted ongoing negotiations among the PRO, Córdoba radicalism, and other forces to build a strong provincial opposition front. She mentioned potential alliances involving the UCR and La Libertad Avanza, while stressing the need to first define the main opponent before selecting individual candidates. The deputy rejected any past affiliation with the provincial Peronist party Unión por Córdoba and called for a unified opposition to challenge the long‑standing ruling coalition.
