Argentina's Economic Reform Debate Highlighted by Officials

National deputy Diego Santilli visited Rafaela, lauding recent security gains in Rosario and defending the economic reforms pursued by President Javier Milei. He argued that the reforms are steering Argentina toward sustained growth, citing improvements in macro‑economic indicators and the need for clearer rules to attract investment and boost exports.

Senator Diego Valenzuela of Buenos Aires used his social‑media platform to praise Brazil’s cascade‑tax elimination and its coordinated tax reform, contrasting it with Argentina’s recent increase in gross‑income taxes, municipal rates and retentions. He urged Argentine lawmakers to consider similar consensus‑based tax cuts, noting that Brazil’s reforms were driven under President Luiz Inácio Lula while Argentina struggles with tax policy debates.
