Caputo later clarified that he never called industrialists “tarados”; he said the term was aimed at those defending the previous economic model, which he blamed for deficits, inflation and poverty. He also reiterated that the government never promised to solve the economy within two years and highlighted upcoming reforms to the Central Bank charter to prevent financing the Treasury.

Separately, private analysts warned that up to 3,000 industrial firms could close in 2026, potentially costing 105,000 jobs, with more than 1,000 closures already recorded this year. The ongoing industrial crisis was illustrated by the shutdown of the Will Der textile plant in Las Flores and Tigre, affecting over 120 workers, and the closure of the KM Tex factory, leaving 25 employees jobless.
