Argentina's ex-president Cristina Kirchner asks Supreme Court to stop seizure of children’s assets

Former Argentine president Cristina Kirchner filed a recurso de queja before the Supreme Court of Justice to block the confiscation of 19 properties transferred to her children, Máximo and Florencia Kirchner. The assets, located mainly in Santa Cruz province—including apartments, houses and lands—were ordered seized by the Federal Oral Court 2 as part of the “Vialidad” graft case that resulted in Kirchner’s conviction for fraudulent administration.

Earlier rulings rejected the defense’s appeals and confirmed the seizure of assets worth more than 684 billion pesos. Kirchner’s lawyers argue the properties stem from legitimate inheritances and donations, insisting that no direct link has been proven between the assets and the crime. The Supreme Court will now decide whether to accept the complaint and halt the ongoing asset recovery process.
