Argentina health authorities coordinate disability policies at COFESA meeting

Health authorities in Argentina convened for a meeting of the Federal Health Council (COFESA) at the headquarters of the National Disability Secretariat (SENADIS) to coordinate disability policies. Led by National Health Minister Mario Lugones and National Disability Secretary Alejandro Vilches, the meeting focused on improving federal articulation and streamlining administrative processes.

Key topics included the management of non-contributory pensions, the optimization of payment circuits for benefits, and updates to the 'Incluir Salud' program. Officials discussed the distribution of funds for high-complexity care, expensive medications, and technical aids. Additionally, a new interactive management map for the Unique Disability Certificate (CUD) was introduced to expedite procedures and increase transparency.

Provincial representatives, including officials from Jujuy and Tucumán, participated in the discussions. Concerns were raised regarding the adequacy of per capita funding to cover the needs of provincial health systems, particularly for high-cost treatments and specialized assistance.
