Argentina's Flagrancy Unit Launches Operations in Salta and Buenos Aires

In Buenos Aires, the East unit of the city’s Public Prosecutor’s Office secured a three‑year effective prison sentence for a repeat offender who assaulted a restaurant owner in the Constitución neighbourhood and later attempted to attack a police officer. The case was resolved within four days through a shortened trial, with Judge Araceli Martínez overseeing the judgment. Both events illustrate the early functioning of the new Flagrancy Units across Argentina’s justice system.
