Argentina's futsal leagues invest $38 million in club roofs and face sanctions dispute

The Argentine Futsal League (La Liga Argentina de Fútbol Sala) announced a $38.65 million investment to erect metal roofing structures over two historic neighbourhood clubs – Las Flores in Cañing and Defensores de San José in Temperley – marking a record‑setting joint project for the sport’s grassroots facilities.

Separately, thirteen futsal clubs in the province of San Luis have petitioned the provincial Directorate of Institutional Verification and Governor Claudio Poggi for intervention after the San Luis futsal league imposed sanctions including nine‑point deductions, two‑year promotion bans, a prohibition on national competition participation and fines of 500,000 pesos. The clubs argue the penalties were applied without due process, claiming the required institutional certificates are already being processed.
