Argentina's July inflation expectations climb to 35.8% nationally

A July 2026 survey by the Centro de Investigación en Finanzas (CIF) of the Universidad Torcuato Di Tella shows Argentine households now expect inflation of 35.8% over the next twelve months, up 3.7 percentage points from June's 32.1%. The forecast varies sharply by region: the Gran Buenos Aires area anticipates 43.2% inflation, the Ciudad Autónoma de Buenos Aires 38.8%, while the rest of the country (the Interior) expects 32.3%.

Higher‑income households raised their expectations from 30.8% to 36.6%, whereas lower‑income groups saw a slight decline to 33.7%. A concurrent QSocial poll indicates that half of Argentines are no longer willing to wait for the government's economic policies to improve their personal situation, with only 16% rating the country's economic conditions as good.
