Argentina's La Pampa and Colombia mandate financial education in schools

The Ministry of Education of La Pampa province in Argentina announced that financial education will become a compulsory component of the secondary school curriculum. The program will cover savings, budgeting, credit, investment and responsible consumption, and teacher‑training sessions are scheduled to start in August 2026 to support implementation.

In Colombia, the House of Representatives received Bill 067 of 2026, presented by deputy Santiago Castro, which would make economic and financial education mandatory in all public and private schools from preschool through secondary education. The proposal outlines age‑appropriate modules, beginning with basic money concepts for preschoolers and progressing to personal finance, investment, insurance and digital finance for high‑school students.
