Argentina's Manuel Calvo and Juan Quinteros Discuss 2027 Election Funding
Manuel Calvo, chief of staff for the province of Córdoba, told local media that provincial mayors have asked the national government to release an advance of co‑participation funds to support employment‑related projects. He cited agreements that would deliver about 400 billion pesos in advance funding, 50 billion pesos from overdue fiscal consensus funds, and a 5 billion‑peso social assistance transfer. Calvo also rejected any coalition with the La Libertad Avanza movement ahead of the 2027 provincial elections, emphasizing continued support for existing social subsidies.
Security Minister Juan Pablo Quinteros, speaking at a forum in Carlos Paz, said he will not pursue a personal candidacy for the 2027 capital mayoral race, stressing loyalty to the political space led by Martín Llaryora. Quinteros dismissed speculation about “peronization” of his profile, stating his focus remains on daily security duties and that any political interpretation is incidental.
