Argentina's Milei signs trade pact with Ecuador and lists Chone Killers as terrorist group

Argentine President Javier Milei traveled to Ecuador, where he met President Daniel Noboa and signed commercial and security agreements as part of a regional tour supporting right‑wing leaders. The meeting included commitments on trade cooperation and a joint stance on security issues.

In a related move, the Argentine government formally added the Ecuadorian criminal organization known as the Chone Killers to its Public Registry of Persons and Entities Linked to Terrorism and its Financing (RePET). The inclusion, approved by the ministries of National Security and Foreign Affairs, was justified by the group's transnational threat and aims to strengthen detection and prevention of terrorism financing.

Both actions underscore a deepening of Argentina‑Ecuador ties, combining economic partnership with coordinated security measures.
