Argentina's Morena Rial May Lose House Arrest After Violations
Morena Rial, a well‑known Argentine media figure, is under house arrest. Prosecutors allege she has repeatedly breached its conditions by receiving unauthorized visitors – 13 alleged infractions were cited. A judge is set to hear her case on Tuesday, and officials say the benefit could be revoked, sending her back to prison. "El martes va a tener que dar explicaciones, porque estuvo con 12 personas en su departamento," prosecutor Pepe Ochoa said.
Rial’s defense team is simultaneously seeking a court order that would allow her to resume work as an influencer, including access to social‑media platforms, to generate income while under confinement. Lawyer Alejandro Cipolla told reporters, "Hoy estuve con Morena para ver si empezamos con salidas laborales," adding that the request does not automatically change her legal status but could improve her daily routine and enable her to support herself and stay near her son in Córdoba.
