Argentina's Neuquén and Santa Fe launch youth mental‑health programs

The Neuquén Institute of Social Security (ISSN) introduced the "Redes para la Vida" program, offering 100% coverage for mental‑health services to affiliates aged 10 to 25. The initiative provides interdisciplinary care—including medical, psychiatric, and psychological treatment in both outpatient and inpatient settings—to prevent self‑harm and suicide. It was developed in coordination with the provincial Ministry of Health and aims to improve early access and comprehensive support for a growing public‑health concern.

In the province of Santa Fe, the education ministry created dedicated teams of psychologists to intervene in exceptional situations within schools. Launched at the start of the new term, the teams will work alongside teachers and staff to strengthen prevention and accompaniment strategies. The measure, driven by Governor Maximiliano Pullaro and Education Minister José Goity after a recent incident in San Cristóbal, is the first of its kind in Argentina and integrates health‑education collaboration to address student wellbeing.
