Argentina's PAMI embroiled in political rally and doctor-patient cuts

In the province of Entre Ríos, libertarian party leader Roque Fleitas held a partisan event inside a PAMI senior centre, defending former chief of staff Manuel Adorni despite ongoing corruption investigations. The use of a public health facility for campaign purposes drew criticism from government officials, including the health minister, who warned that party activities should not mix with state resources.

At the same time, PAMI in Córdoba dramatically reduced the patient lists of many primary‑care doctors after a 50 % cut to their fees. Doctors' unions protested, saying the cuts left physicians with as few as 100 patients and earnings of roughly 250,000 pesos a month, threatening the continuity of care for retirees who rely on PAMI services.
