Argentina's Peronist figures announce re‑election bids for 2027

Javier Orduna, a senior Peronist leader in Entre Ríos, launched his pre‑candidacy for the mayoralty of Concordia, calling for a generational renewal within the PJ, criticizing the provincial pension reform, the provincial health scheme and the current municipal administration, and urging open internal primaries.

Governor Osvaldo Jaldo of Tucumán announced that he will seek re‑election in the 2027 provincial elections, running again with Vice Governor Miguel Acevedo. He cited constitutional permission for a second term, highlighted ongoing infrastructure projects, and stressed maintaining party unity and internal participation ahead of the vote.
