Argentina's Peronist Leaders Call for Unity Ahead of 2027 Elections

Former city councilor and electric cooperative vice‑president Martín Santana said he will only run for the Concordia mayoralty in 2027 if a broad Peronist consensus is reached, rejecting any fragmented internal contest. He warned that internal primaries could further atomise the party after its defeat that ended four decades of Peronist rule in the municipality.

Peronist activist Sergio Godoy also stressed the need for unity, denouncing President Javier Milei as a threat to the nation and urging party factions to maintain dialogue and collective decision‑making. Both leaders highlighted that internal debates are healthy but must serve the goal of a united front for upcoming elections and to counter current national challenges.
