Argentina's Personal Pay launches MEP dollar trading in its app

Personal Pay, the virtual wallet of the Argentine fintech group Personal, announced that users can now buy and sell the MEP (dólar bolsa) directly through the app. The new feature requires opening a free "cuenta comitente" and completing biometric identity verification. Once approved, users select the MEP option, enter the amount in pesos or dollars, confirm the transaction and the dollars are credited to a dollar‑denominated account within the app. Trading is available on business days during market hours and the exchange rate is displayed continuously.

The addition expands Personal Pay’s suite of services, which already includes personal loans, a remunerated account, a prepaid card and exclusive benefits. With more than five million customers, the platform positions itself as one of Argentina’s leading fintechs, extending its investment offering to a widely used instrument for dollar savings in the country.
