Argentina’s poultry consumption to top 50 kg per person by 2026

The Argentine poultry sector projects household chicken intake to reach, and possibly exceed, 50 kg per capita in 2026, according to the Centre for Poultry Processing Enterprises (CEPA). Executive director Carlos Sinesi noted current consumption is already around that level and highlighted the role of expanding export markets, particularly to China and the European Union, as key to further growth. CEPA also forecast a record egg consumption of nearly 430 eggs per person by 2026, bringing total animal‑protein intake to about 144 kg per person.

Meanwhile, the Agronea 2026 agroindustrial fair in Charata, Chaco gathered around 100,000 visitors, showcasing strong demand for Argentine beef and highlighting financing options, new technologies, and high‑value cattle sales reaching roughly five million pesos. Participants emphasized favourable market conditions and the importance of investment and export opportunities for the sector’s continued expansion.
