Argentina's President Milei proposes AI‑run 'non‑human corporations' law
President Javier Milei of Argentina has introduced a proposal to create a new legal figure called “non‑human corporations,” entities that would be operated autonomously by artificial intelligence. The plan, part of the draft “Super RIGI” law recently sent to Congress, aims to deregulate the AI sector, offer low tax rates and flexible corporate governance to attract multinational investment.
Milei argues that Argentina should “invite AI to liberate” the economy, likening the proposal to the historic creation of the Dutch East India Company. Critics note that the move diverges from the approach of major powers, which see AI as a strategic national asset requiring state oversight, and warn about the risks of concentrating advanced technological capabilities without regulation.
