Argentina's private health facilities face wage protests and severe clinic violations

The Association of Health Workers of Argentina (ATSA) has called a four‑hour strike at three private institutions in Córdoba—Sanatorio Aconcagua, Sanatorio Santo Tomás and Laboratorio Viola—demanding payment of wages that are 65% overdue for May and other accumulated benefits. The union says each worker is owed roughly 870,000 Argentine pesos and warns that the action could be intensified.

Separately, former and current staff at the Clinic Berisso (Sanatorio Médico Argentino) have reported a series of critical irregularities, including the absence of central oxygen in intensive care, unregistered employees with delayed salaries, severe hygiene lapses, professionals without valid licences, inadequate patient diets, presence of animals in clinical areas, and dubious billing practices. The clinic is also under investigation for an estimated 325 million‑peso fraud involving the public health insurer PAMI, with a criminal case already active.
