Argentina's provinces host archery, badminton promotion and school chess championship

In Intendente Alvear, La Pampa, the provincial Subsecretariat of Sports and the municipal government organized a full‑day event promoting archery and badminton. Students, teachers and sports instructors participated in practical sessions and theoretical workshops. Lorena Ruiz, secretary of Social Development, said “sport is a fundamental tool for the integral development of children and adolescents, helping them acquire healthy habits and values such as commitment, respect and teamwork.”

In Monte Caseros, Corrientes, more than 200 students from 13 localities gathered for the Provincial School Chess Championship. The mayor, Juan Carlos Álvarez, and South American blitz champion Juan Ignacio Zanarido inaugurated the tournament with a symbolic opening move. Competitors played across four age categories, highlighting the growth of school chess in the province and promoting concentration, respect and learning among youth.
