Argentina's Provincial Literacy Plan Holds Second Teacher Meeting

The Provincial Education Council in Argentina hosted the second in‑person gathering of the Plan Provincial de Alfabetización Plen@, focusing on initial literacy in primary schools. The event took place at the Colegio Salesiano "Nuestra Señora de Luján" and brought together a large group of teachers from third‑grade classes, public and private schools, as well as rural and special‑education programs.

The session was led by CONICET specialist Dr. Marina Ferroni, Education Management Secretary Daniela Franchini, and plan coordinator Liliana Buryaile. It featured workshops on classroom organization, student group formation, and strategies for improving comprehension of narrative and expository texts. The meeting was organized in partnership with the Educational Portfolio, Fundación Pérez Companc, Fundación Instituto Natura, CGC, Petroquímica Comodoro Rivadavia and Latitud 45°, and underscored the province’s commitment to strengthening early literacy.

Key speakers highlighted the historical demand for such professional development, emphasizing the role of research‑based teaching methods in shaping the province’s educational future.
