Argentina's provincial teachers unions reject and accept government salary offers

The Union of Provincial Teachers (UDAP) in San Juan province unanimously rejected the salary proposal presented by the provincial government, calling it insufficient to meet teachers' demands. The rejection leaves the negotiation open for a new offer.

In contrast, the United Teachers Union (SUTE) representing teachers and caretakers in Mendoza province accepted a revised salary plan that includes an 11% total increase—7% in August and 4% in November—and an extra aid package for school supplies and work equipment. The agreement also schedules a follow‑up meeting in early November to review the impact of the raises.
