Patagonian highways face fog, drizzle and unsafe conditions

Vialidad Nacional issued urgent alerts for several Patagonian routes due to dense fog, drizzle, wet pavement and unstable shoulders. On Route 3 between Garayalde and Comodoro Rivadavia visibility was sharply reduced and the side‑shoulders were covered in mud and water, prompting drivers to reduce speed, keep low‑beam headlights on and increase following distance. Similar hazards were reported on Route 26 between Comodoro Rivadavia and Sarmiento, where salting operations have left the road surface slippery. A separate warning closed Route 25 between Paso de Indios and Tecka because of snow and ice.

In the Neuquén and Río Negro provinces, low temperatures and fog continued to affect National Routes 40, 237, 231 and 242 across the Andes. Chains remain mandatory for all vehicles, visibility is limited, and there are risks of ice, rock falls and loose animals. The international border crossing at Paso Pino Hachado reopened for daytime travel. Authorities advised motorists to check real‑time road conditions before travelling.
