Argentina's Rural Groups Push for Voluntary IPCVA Funding and Reform of Livestock Transport Controls

The Sociedad Rural de Santa Fe (SRSF) backed a national bill that would make the contribution to the Institute of Promotion of Argentine Beef (IPCVA) voluntary rather than mandatory, arguing that producers need transparency on how funds are used. Secretary Juan Carlos Pujato said the organization has requested detailed expense reports for two years and wants farmers to decide whether to finance the institute.

Separately, the Confederaciones Rurales Argentinas (CRA) lodged a complaint about road checkpoints in Formosa province, saying they cause unjustified delays, higher logistical costs and stress to animals. CRA urged the provincial government to create a technical table to review the controls, which they claim are applied with discretionary criteria beyond existing regulations.
