Argentina's Santa Fe police seize 120+ kg marijuana, 5 kg cocaine in May raids

In May, the Provincial Police of Santa Fe (PDI) conducted 498 raids across the province, including the cities of Santa Fe and Rosario. The operations resulted in the seizure of more than 120 kilograms of marijuana, 5 kilograms of cocaine, 32 firearms, 846 rounds of ammunition, 43 vehicles and cash totaling 34 million Argentine pesos.

Federico Angelini, secretary of Institutional Management at the Ministry of Justice and Security, highlighted the role of the provincial Ley de Microtráfico in achieving these results, stating: “Estos allanamientos son la etapa final de un trabajo muy profesional que viene llevando adelante la Policía de Investigaciones en coordinación con la Fiscalía”. The crackdown is presented as part of a broader effort to curb narco‑trafficking in Santa Fe and restore security for residents.

The seizures underscore the intensified focus on drug‑related crime in Argentina’s interior provinces and the coordinated use of intelligence, fiscal, and operational resources to disrupt criminal networks.
