Argentina's Santa Fe soy harvest hits record as sunflower output surges
The 2025/26 soybean campaign in the central‑north of Santa Fe province produced a historic 6.09 million tonnes, a 13.3 % increase over the previous cycle. About 80 % of the crop will go to industrial processing, with projected export earnings of roughly US$2.0 billion, driven by favorable weather and strong international prices.
In the same season, seed company Zeta Semillas reported a near‑record sunflower harvest covering almost 3 million hectares—about 40 % above recent averages—particularly in southeast Buenos Aires, Santa Fe and Entre Ríos. The company also launched a pre‑sale of its new maize hybrid ZT 1105, aiming to replicate its sunflower market leadership in corn production.
Both developments underscore record grain yields and heightened export potential for Argentina’s agricultural sector.
