Argentina's second‑division basketball league sets 2026/27 schedule and roster rules

The 2026/27 season of Argentina's second‑division professional basketball league will begin in mid‑October and run through June, featuring two conferences that play a double‑round robin. The regular season ends in late March, followed by a re‑classification round for teams placed 5th to 12th, conference quarter‑finals, inter‑conference playoffs, and semifinals scheduled for late May.

New regulations approved by the General Assembly allow clubs in the National, Argentine, and Women's leagues up to three player replacements during the season, unlimited for under‑21 players and minors, and exempt loaned players returning from international competition. Age categories were also updated: male players born in 2006 or earlier are considered senior, while those born 2007‑2011 are juniors; for women, seniors are born in 2005 or earlier.

These changes aim to give clubs greater flexibility in roster management while clarifying eligibility and transfer windows for the upcoming campaign.
