Argentina's Superintendency of Insurance Launches Anti‑Fraud Initiative

On 16 June, the Argentine Superintendency of Insurance (SSN) participated in the “Fraud al Seguro: Aspectos de Fondo y Forma” forum organized by the Asociación de Aseguradores Argentinos (ADEAA) and the Buenos Aires Public Ministry. Superintendent Guillermo Plate highlighted how insurance fraud undermines insurers’ solvency, raises premiums and increases system costs, stressing that protecting solvency is essential for policyholders.

Plate announced several new measures, including the strategic use of SSN data to create tools for insurers and a forthcoming digital agreement with the Junta Federal de Cortes y Superiores Tribunales de Justicia (JUFEJUS). The agreement will give courts direct digital access to SSN‑administered information, streamlining judicial requests linked to insurance activities and strengthening fraud prevention.

The SSN said it will continue collaborating with judicial and industry bodies to improve fraud detection, data sharing and protection of insured parties.
