Argentina's Superior Court orders audit of Caleta Olivia courts

The Superior Court of Justice has ordered an administrative audit of the Instruction Courts in Caleta Olivia, Argentina. This decision follows complaints from families regarding significant delays in two investigations involving deaths in the northern Santa Cruz region.

The audit, signed by President Gabriel N. Contreras Agüero, aims to increase transparency and address stalled files. The first case involves the disappearance and death of Mario García, which has faced irregularities and stagnation. The court also incorporated the case of Alejandro Palemarchuk, described as having “singular complexity” due to paralyzed expert reports and a lack of progress in criminal proceedings.

A judge from the Second Judicial District will lead the review and must submit a detailed report within 15 business days regarding unjustified delays and pending evidence.
